live at Costa July 2014This month we have the great privilege of being joined by a talented group of local musicians intriguingly called the Masters of Nonne. They will be bringing a mixture of great tunes from the 70’s and 80’s plus an occasional original composition.

Sunday 6th July – 7.30pm @ Costa Coffee, Shipley

Come along and bring your friends. All Welcome.

live at Costa June 2014For June we have something really special lined up. An evening with the legend that is John Froud. Most of you or your children will have come across John via his work in schools but he guarantees that he will be all grown up for his performance at Live @ Costa.

Sunday 1st June – 7.30pm @ Costa Coffee, Shipley

Everyone Welcome

P1100822Another great evening at Costa Coffee. Led by two stirring sets from the Dry Stone Wailers the room was alive with music and conversation. Beginning with their own version of Don’t You Want Me, Baby’, the Wailers put on a brilliant show.

Even though it was a Bank Holiday weekend the room was full and it was great to see some new faces amongst the crowd.

P1100832Our thanks to Hayley, Rio and Dan for all their hard work and to the Wailers for the music.

The remainder of the photos can be found on our Facebook page.

P1100830here is a short sample of the Wailers at play:

live at Costa May 2014Our next Live @ Costa looks as though it might prove entertaining. We are welcoming a folk band called the ‘Dry Stone Wailers‘. This will be first for us.

Also in honour of it being ‘Star Wars Day’ (May the 4th be with you!) there will be a Star Wars themed quiz.

This IS the place you are looking for!

Everyone Welcome

P1100567Another great evening at Live @ Costa. Again the place was full and yet again the music and conversation flowed.

P1100563Jacob was on fine form and provided two sets mixing his music with some covers. We all sang along to ‘I’m Yours’ as if we ourselves were the performers.

P1100568As always the Costa team of Rosa, Alex and Polly were wonderful and served endless cups of coffee. However towards the end even they could not resist a moment of fun.

Thanks to everyone for your support and we will return next month with the Dry Stone Wailers.

live at Costa April 2014For April we return to the rich vein of singer song writers, that has been such a feature of our evenings at Costa Coffee. This month we are delighted to welcome Jacob Lloyd, a young performer who has just launched his first album to be our star guest at Live @ Costa. Jacob will be bringing his own unique brand of contemporary songs. Yet another great evening of music in prospect.

Sunday 6th April – 7.30pm @ Costa Coffee, Market Street, Shipley.

Here is a little taster of Jacob live.

Come along and bring your friends – everyone welcome.

P1100426It was another amazing evening at Costa. For the first time in its history the attendance figures exceeded 90. In fact every chair in the place was taken. However those standing seemed to think that it was good to be able to move around and chat with people. This could so easily be Paris in the fifties!

Clare MacLaren was in fine form as were her backing group Pip and Emma (or as they became know the Clarenettes!).

It was a great evening of jazz standards and popular songs, punctuated by sing along numbers like Crazy Little Thing Called Love and Johnny B Goode.

Our thanks go to Clare, Pip and Emma for the music, John for the Kit and Emma and her staff (Hayley, Daniel and Rio) for all their hard work behind the counter keeping us fed and watered.

P1100430Here is a sample of the great music with which we were entertained.

live at Costa March 2014This month we keep up our 2014 tradition of female singers. We are thrilled to welcome Clare MacLaren  as our star performer for Live @ Costa. Clare, who in her day job is the vicar of Heaton, will be bringing her own unique blend of jazz and blues. Yet another great  evening of music in prospect.

Sunday 2nd March – 7.30pm @ Costa Coffee, Market Street, Shipley.

Come along and bring your friends – everyone welcome.

P1100270Last night about 80 people packed into Costa Coffee in Shipley and were delighted by the magnificent musical stylings of Janet Jaye, ably assisted by laptop maestro PP1100258hil.

From the moment that the first song filled the room, we all knew we were in for a treat. In the first set Janet took us through the greatest hits of Etta James, Whitney Houston and Tina Turner.

P1100268In her interview with Colin, she shared how she had grown up singing in church and that her faith provide her strength and purpose day by day.

P1100261However it was her second set that really brought the crowd to their feet. I cannot remember ever seeing so many people dancing in Costa Coffee before. It was brilliant. I particularly enjoyed her version of ‘Valerie’.

P1100265A memorable night and our thanks go to Emma, Hayley, Holly and Jack for all their hard work and to Janet and her team for the music and finally to those who supported this event.
